Saturday: Ambivalence

"Passion week is for those who don't feel much passion, who feel drained by life & wearied by burdens. He was praying for you in that garden"--"For The Church" Twitter Feed

We don't know what Saturday was like for the Disciples; we're not told.  But, I have to think that some of the guys were probably wondering "what was all of this for?".  After 3 years of ministry, friendship, and hardship together. . . things had come to a rather hasty end, . . or so it seemed.

This might be the part of Holy Week that the majority of us can identify with.  Modern life seems to be full of meaninglessness.  We often don't understand why things happen the way they do.  Sometimes these realities lead us not to care all that much about things that are important.

If that's you (and it's me at times, . . to be sure).  This week is for you!  Sometimes the heightened passion and spiritual focus of Holy Week makes some of us feel "left behind" (in a very different way :)  ).   Take heart, Christian.  Christ knows and He prays for you, . . prays for meaning, passion, purpose, etc. .  And, He provides it.  So, draw close to the Lord this weekend, even if you don't feel it.

Matthew 11:28

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
